Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal is an award-winning Multi-instrumentalist, Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer and World-renowned Guitar virtuoso, with over 20 years of releasing music, playing international festivals and headlining tours, and gracing magazine covers as a solo artist.

As lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses (2006 – 2014) Bumblefoot toured sold-out shows all over the world, headlining festivals with crowds up to 150,000. Bumblefoot's unique 'fretless guitar' can be heard throughout GNR's 2008 Chinese Democracy album.

Bumblefoot's recent Little Brother Is Watching album is an eccentric, upbeat collection of epic, modern rock with haunting melodies, huge choruses and witty lyrics about life in the digital age and beyond.

The album was composed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Bumblefoot at his own studio, and includes a crowd of 100 fans stomping, chanting and singing backing vocals recorded at a listening party in New York.

The day after its release, the album went as high as #4 on the Amazon.com Rock charts in Europe.

Bumblefoot's recent collaborations include rock group Art Of Anarchy (featuring vocalist Scott Weiland and Disturbed bassist John Moyer) and DMC (from the iconic rap group Run DMC).

He is also an accomplished composer whose music is often heard in TV, film and video games including the theme song to VH1's "That Metal Show".

Bumblefoot also works with U.S. Embassies around the world on cross-cultural music programs, has his own line of award-winning hot sauces, and works with dozens of international charities visiting orphanages and children's hospitals around the World with guitar in hand.

What was the first effects pedal you got or discovered?
My first pedal was an Electro-Harmonix "Muff Fuzz".
From there I started getting Ibanez pedals - Tube Screamer, Flanger, Delay, and a Dunlop wah pedal

Are you a curious or a modern person
or are you a collector at the same time?
I don't collect, I like to keep things as simple as I can...
What is the last effects pedal
  you've bought?
Xotic EP Booster, really improves the guitar's tone.

What is the next effects pedal
  you would like to have?
Hmmmmm, anything that does something *new and refreshing* to the guitar sound, but I don't know what...?
What's your favorite choice for buying
  musical gears: shop, internet,
  second hand ?
I prefer to try things out in person...
What is the band or artist that you
would advise to listen to in order
to discover how effects pedals can
  be really well used?
Don't follow any rules, use your ears, and put no limits on your creativity. :-)
 Do effects sounds influence your
  compositions or is it relegated
  to the background?
An effect can lead to lots of experimentation, yes. I've written riffs and songs just from playing around with an auto-wah or octave pedal.
Use pedals to inspire your ears. :-)
What is your worst memory while
  using an effects pedal?
I used a vocal harmoizer, and it was harmonizing all the bleed from the amps on stage into the vocal microphone...
NOT good, haha...
